Research Opportunities

I am currently looking for motivated students to join a range of research projects, from master’s research experiences and paid internships to PhD opportunities. Current topics are outlined below, but I also welcome new ideas—please feel free to contact me to discuss your interests.

PhD Positions

• Multimodal deepfake detection in collaboration between ÉTS Montréal and AMIAD, start date as soon as possible.

Internships

Six-month paid Master 2 internships at the AMIAD, starting in spring 2027, on the Polytechnique campus, Palaiseau; preferably for students from engineering schools in Palaiseau, or from Paris metropolitan area. Topics include:

• Simulating radio communication data to improve the robustness of speech processing systems
• Detecting audio deepfakes using a database of signatures
• Investigating the robustness, detection, and identification of audio steganography and watermarking
• Streaming masking of personal information in speech

Master’s level research experiences

Unpaid research experiences for a semester or a year, which can be rewarded with academic credits depending on your institution. Topics include for Johns Hopkins University students:

• Language identification in crowds
• Conversation analysis using large language models
• Reverberation of audio and speech signals in open and enclosed spaces
